OFFICIAL RULES

LEGAL TERMS APPLICABLE GLOBALLY TO THIS COMPETITION:

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.  A PURCHASE DOES NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCE OF

WINNING.

Submitting an entry constitutes your full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance

of these Official Rules and the decisions of the Wella Company (“Sponsor”) and judges, which

shall be final and binding on all matters relating to the Competition.

1) Promotion Description: The North American Trend Vision Awards (the “Competition”)

begins on or about March 1, 2025 at 12:01AM Pacific Time (“PT”) and ends on July 1, 2025 at

11:59:59PM PT (the “Competition Period”). By participating in the Competition and

submitting an entry, each unconditionally accepts and agrees to comply with and abide

by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Wella Company and judges, which shall be

final and binding on all matters relating to the Competition.

2) Sponsor: Wella Operations US LLC and Wella Beauty Canada ULC (“Wella,” “Wella

Company,” or “Sponsor”), 4500 Park Granada, Calabasas, CA 91302 USA. This Competition

is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Instagram

and you understand you are providing your information to Sponsor and not to Instagram.

3) Eligibility: The Competition is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States, the

District of Columbia, Canada, and Puerto Rico (“Eligibility Area”) who, as of the last day of the

month prior to the date of entry, are eighteen (18) years of age, and the legal age of majority,

or older in the state, province, or territory in which they reside, whichever is greater.  The

following have the following additional eligibility criteria:

● The “hair categories” (Color, Cut, Style) are only open to professionals who are licensed barbers, hairdressers and colorists

● The “Student” sub-categories are only open to students enrolled, at the time of entry into the Competition, in school in the process of obtaining a cosmetology or barbering license, or is currently working in an apprenticeship as a cosmetologist.

Entrants must also have an Instagram account open to the public to be eligible for this

Competition. If you do not have an Instagram account, you may sign up for one for free.

Officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents of Sponsor and its parent,

subsidiaries, affiliates, sales representatives, advertising and promotion agencies (all such

individuals and entities collectively referred to herein as the “Promotion Entities”), and each of

their immediate family members and/or those residing in the same household are NOT eligible

to enter the Competition or win a prize. For this Competition, “immediate family” means

mother, father, sons, daughters, siblings, spouses, including common law, regardless of

where they reside. Void outside the Eligibility Area and where prohibited by law.

4) How to Enter: To enter, during the Competition Period, post a video (reel) to your

Instagram account with the applicable category hashtag on Instagram (as broken out

below), and mention of @WellaEducation (your “Post”). Then, visit

http://northamericantrendvisionawards.com

and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the form and paste a link to your Post

and submit your entry into the contest. All entrant Instagram accounts must be open and

accessible by the public to be eligible for this Competition. If you do not have an Instagram

account, you may sign up for one for free.

1. Entrants must follow these video requirements:

● Time: Video entry must be 60 - 90 seconds long

● Aspect Ratio: Video entry must be filmed vertically with a 9x16 aspect ratio

2. Entrants must showcase the following in their entry videos:

● Intro: Video or voiceover answering the following questions:

▪ Why are you entering NATVA 2025?

▪ What does “Digital Prism” mean to you?

o Before: 360° video of model before

● Process: Up-close video of technique, or product and/or color application

o After: 360° video of model after

● Final look: Still image of model from any angle that best showcases your work

3. Entrants must answer the following questions in the caption of their entry:

How did you incorporate the theme into your entry look?

What #PROtechniques did you use to create your entry look?

What #PROformula did you use to create your entry look?

What #PROproducts did you use to create your entry look?

4. Entrants who are Students (as defined in Rule #3):

Must also provide a brief statement about their mentor.

5) Winner Determination: Entrants are divided into two categories and 12 sub-categories described below.

Round 1 of Judging: The top 3 finalists in each sub-category (36 total) will be determined

beginning on or about August 5th 2025 by a professional judging panel according to the

following criteria (“Judging Criteria”): color and cut choice and suitability to the models

features, face shape, skin tone, and eye color (30%), quality of the execution, suitability and

overall beauty of the color, hair quality, condition and shine (40%), and overall finished

look color, cut, styling in line with the Trend Vision trend (Digital Prism) (30%).

Round 2 of Judging: The finalists in each sub-category will be judged again based on the

Judging Criteria by a separate and distinct professional judging panel to determine the

winners [one (1) winner per sub-category, 12 total].  In the event of a tie in either judging

round, the highest score in the quality of the execution, suitability and overall beauty of the

color, hair quality, condition and shine category will determine corresponding winner.

By entering the Competition, entrants agree to be bound by and not challenge the final

decisions of Sponsor and the individual judges. In the event that a winning entry is discovered

to be invalid for any reason whatsoever or the person who submitted the winning entry fails to

comply with these Official Rules prior to delivery of the prize, the prize may be forfeited and may

be awarded to an alternate winner as determined above.

Rule #3 for details regarding eligibility requirements for the (6) professional and (6) student sub-categories.

6) Prizes and Approximate Retail Values: Prizes (12 total – 1 per sub-category listed).

Each Hair category winner (12 total) will receive the following prize consisting of a Wella Studio

Cut, Color OR Style Certification, which consists of an in-person training, at Wella Studios in

Calabasas, California, 6-month Passionista status and the opportunity to be interviewed

with TheTease.com and a $1,000 USD Visa gift card. Total approximate ARV of each prize:

$7,500 USD. The six (6) professional sub-category winners will also be eligible to

participate in the forthcoming ITVA Competition. WINNERS ARE SOLEY RESPONSIBLE

FOR TRANSPORTATION, AND COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH TRANSPORTATION, TO AND

FROM WELLA STUDIOS TO OBTAIN THE WELLA STUDIO CERTIFICATION. WINNERS

ARE SOLEY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LODGING EXPENSE RELATED TO ATTENDANCE

AT OR COMPLETION OF A WELLA STUDIO CERTIFICATION. ALL DETAILS AND

DATES/TIMES OF CERTIFICATION ARE IN SPONSOR’S SOLE DISCRETION. WINNERS

WILL BE PROVIDED DETAILS OF WHAT THEY NEED TO BRING OR DO FOR THE

CERTIFICATION IN ADVANCE.

Sponsor will not cover any other costs or expenses, including without limitation, winners’

travel accommodations, subject to availability. Winners’ guests must be of the age of majority

unless the winner is guest’s parent or legal guardian. Sponsor is not responsible in any

manner if the Competition or Event cannot take place, or if any prize cannot be awarded

due to travel cancellations, delays or interruptions due to acts of God, acts of war,

natural disasters, public health crises, epidemics, pandemics, travel restrictions,

government restrictions or bans, acts of public authorities, weather or acts of terrorism.  The

terms and conditions of the tickets awarded as prizes apply. The Promotion Entities, and/or any

other relevant party, reserve the right to remove or to deny entry to any winner, or guest

who engages in a disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any

other person at the Event or Certification. Cash cannot be substituted for any ticket prize

unless otherwise agreed by the Sponsor. Resale of prizes is prohibited. Unused tickets cannot be

refunded, exchanged for cash or applied towards tickets for any subsequent years. No

responsibility is assumed by the Promotion Entities if the Event/Certification is cancelled,

rescheduled, delayed or postponed in whole or in part.

7) Video Content Restrictions: All videos submitted in connection with this Competition

must comply with the following “Submission Requirements”:

(i)    the video submitted must be the submitting entrant’s original, previously

unpublished work and not include any material owned or controlled by third parties

(including without limitation, third party copyrighted material);

(ii)   the entrant must provide upon request all appropriate clearances, permissions, and

releases for the video submission (in the event an entrant cannot provide all required releases,

Sponsor reserves the right, in Sponsor’s sole discretion, to disqualify the applicable

Submission, or seek to secure the releases and clearances for Sponsor’s benefit, or allow the

applicable Submission to remain in the Competition);

(iii)  the Submission must not include any content that is inappropriate, indecent,

obscene, hateful, pornographic, tortious, defamatory, libelous, slanderous, or otherwise

objectionable or that disparages Sponsor or any of the Promotion Entities;

(iv)  the video submission must not contain material that violates or infringes

another's rights, including but not limited to privacy, publicity or intellectual property

rights, or that constitutes copyright infringement;

(v)   the video submission must not contain material that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred

or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race,

gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age;

(vi)  the video submission must not contain material that is unlawful, in violation of or

contrary to the laws or regulations in any state or territory where your video is created. 

Any video submission that, in Sponsor's good faith judgment and sole discretion, violates the Submission Requirements will be disqualified. 

Each entrant and, to the extent applicable, videographer and person/model depicted in

video (who must be the age of majority), grant to Sponsor a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual,

non-exclusive right and license to copy, distribute, and display each submitted entry, in

any media and with the unlimited right to use, copy, modify, edit, and create derivative works

therefrom, and agrees to execute documents confirming such right and license at Sponsor’s reasonable request.

8) Entry Restrictions: The following entry conditions and terms apply with respect to the Competition:

● Entrants may enter for each sub-category multiple times throughout the Competition Period; however each Entry must be unique. Entrants may only use one Instagram account to enter.

● Entrants may enter one video for multiple sub-categories.

● Entrants will be required to show proof of license or proof of cosmetology school or apprenticeship to prove eligibility for a particular sub-category.

● The video must show a clear link to the theme.

● All video submissions must be created by the entrant during the Competition Period and posted on Instagram with the specified category hashtag during the Competition Period;

9) Restrictions Regarding Use of Products and Tools: Only Wella Company beauty brands

products may be used for the three hair categories. Each hairdresser

is responsible for providing his/her own personal equipment, such as scissors,

brushes, combs, etc. for entry submission. You may use any tools, hot tools, or brushes

available to you. Entrants may incorporate hairpieces & padding, must not be visible

(no more than 30%). Sponsor shall not be liable or responsible for loss of and/or damage to

electrical equipment. Any entry not in compliance with all the above restrictions and

conditions will be disqualified in Sponsor’s sole discretion.

10) General Prize Conditions/Winner Notification: All expenses and costs (including

travel costs) not expressly stated in the description above are the sole responsibility of

each winner. All prizes must be accepted as awarded and no substitution will be allowed,

except that Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize (or prize component) for one

of equal or greater value at its sole discretion (except as specifically explained above). The

potential winners will be sent, via email link, a Declaration of Eligibility, Liability & Publicity

Release (where legal) and assignment of rights (“Declaration”) and will be required to

complete, and sign and return the Declaration via email within forty-eight (48) hours of being

notified in order to claim the prize. If a potential winner fails to return the Declaration within the

required time period, or the prize notification is returned undeliverable, or in the event that a

potential winner is disqualified for any reason or ineligible, Sponsor will award the applicable

prize to an alternate winner determined as outlined above. If any prize notification is

returned as undeliverable, and/or if potential winner is not in compliance with the Official

Rules (including eligibility requirements), then potential winner will be disqualified and an

alternate potential winner will be determined. Winners are subject to verification by Sponsor

and/or judges, whose decisions are final and binding in all matters related to the Competition.

11) General Liability Release/Force Majeure: Entrants agree that neither the Promotion

Entities nor Instagram  to the fullest extent permitted by law, shall be responsible or liable

for, and are hereby released from, any and all costs, injuries, losses or damages of any kind,

due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, to participation in the Competition or any

Competition-related activity, or from entrants’ acceptance, receipt, possession and/or use or

misuse of any prize, and (B) have not made any warranty, representation or guarantee

express or implied, in fact or in law, with respect to any prize, including, without limitation, to

such prize’s quality or fitness for a particular purpose. The Promotion Entities assumes no

responsibility for any damage to an entrant’s, or any other person’s, computer system which

is occasioned by accessing any website or otherwise participating in the Competition, or

for any computer system, phone line, hardware, software or program malfunctions,

or other errors, failures, delayed computer transmissions or network connections that are

human or technical in nature. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the Promotion

Entities are  not responsible for incomplete, illegible, misdirected, misprinted, late, lost,

damaged, stolen, or postage-due prize notifications; or for lost, interrupted,

inaccessible or unavailable networks, servers, satellites, Internet service providers, websites, or

other connections; or for miscommunications, failed, jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or

misdirected computer, telephone or cable transmissions; or for any technical

malfunctions, failures, difficulties or other errors of any kind or nature; or for the

incorrect or inaccurate capture of information, or the failure to capture any information.

Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who is found to be

tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Competition, to be acting in

violation of these Official Rules, or to be acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or

with the intent to disrupt or undermine the legitimate operation of the Competition, or to

annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person, and Sponsor reserves the right to seek

damages and other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.

No mechanically reproduced, illegible, incomplete, forged, software-generated or

other automated multiple entries will be accepted. Sponsor reserves the right to modify,

extend, suspend, or terminate the Competition if it determines, in its sole discretion, that the

Competition is technically impaired or corrupted or that fraud or technical problems,

failures or malfunctions or other causes beyond Sponsor’s control have destroyed or

severely undermined or to any degree impaired the integrity, administration, security,

proper play and/or feasibility of the Competition as contemplated herein. In the

event an insufficient number of eligible entries are received and/or Sponsor is prevented from

awarding prizes or continuing with the Competition as contemplated herein by

any event beyond its control, including but not limited to fire, flood, natural or man-made

epidemic or pandemic of health of other means, earthquake, explosion, labor dispute or

strike, act of God or public enemy, satellite or equipment failure, riot or civil disturbance,

terrorist threat or activity, war (declared or undeclared) or any federal, state, provincial,

territorial or local government law, order, or regulation, public health crisis, order of any

court or jurisdiction, or other similar or dissimilar cause not reasonably within

Sponsor’s control (each a "ForceMajeure" event or

occurrence), then subject to any governmental or regulatory approval which

may be required, Sponsor shall have the right to modify, suspend, extend or terminate the

Competition. If the Competition is terminated before the designated end date, Sponsor will (if

possible) determine the finalists and winners in accordance with Rule #5 from among all

eligible, non-suspect entries received prior to the time of termination. Only the type and

quantity of prizes described in these Official Rules will be awarded. These Official Rules

cannot be modified or amended in any way except in a written document issued in

accordance with law by a duly authorized representative of Sponsor. The invalidity or

unenforceability of any provision of these Official Rules shall not affect the validity or

enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision is determined to be

invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, these Official Rules shall otherwise remain in

effect and shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein.

Caution: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE OR UNDERMINE

THE CONTENT OR LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS COMPETITION IS A VIOLATION OF

CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR

WILL DISQUALIFY ANY SUCH ENTRANT AND RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES

AND OTHER REMEDIES (INCLUDING ATTORNEYS’ FEES) FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

12) Winners List: For the complete Competition winners list, available after the date the

winners are announced, send your request along with a self-addressed stamped

envelope (3” x 5” paper with your complete name and address for Canadian residents), to

Sponsor at the following address, within thirty (30) days following the end of the Competition:

Wella Company, 4500 Park Granada, Calabasas, CA 91302, USA.

13) Publicity Release: By participating in the Competition, in addition to any other grants

which may be granted in any other agreement entered into between Sponsor and any entrant

in or winner of the Competition, each entrant irrevocably grants the Promotion Entities and

their respective successors, assigns and licensees, the right to use such entrant’s name,

likeness, biographical information, and statements in any and all media for any

purpose, including without limitation, advertising and promotional purposes as well

as in, on or in connection with the Sponsor’s website or the Competition or other

promotions, and hereby release, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the

Promotion Entities from any liability with respect thereto. Each entrant hereby waives

any and all moral rights it may have in its entries submitted and grants to Sponsor a

non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, non-revocable license and right to reproduce, use

and/or edit all entries submitted (or portions thereof, including any writings, photographs or

drawings) in any manner, including posting or reposting on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or

other applicable social media, and no such posting or other use shall entitle the entrant

submitting such post (including any photo) to any compensation of any kind whatsoever,

except where prohibited by law. Entrants understand and agree that each is providing

their information to Sponsor and not to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

14) Governing Law: Note: The following paragraph does not apply to Canadian

residents. To the extent permitted by law, all issues and questions concerning the

construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules or the

rights and obligations of entrants or Sponsor in connection with the Competition shall be

exclusively governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of

California in the U.S., without regard to conflicts of law provisions. To the fullest extent permitted

by law, entrants submit to exclusive personal jurisdiction in California and agree that any

dispute shall be brought in the state and federal courts in California in the U.S.

For Canadian Residents Only: The courts in some provinces of Canada will not apply

consumer laws from another jurisdiction/province to some types of disputes.

If an entrant resides in one of those provinces, that province’s local laws will apply to such

disputes related to these Official Rules. Otherwise, entrant agree that the laws of the

Province of Ontario will apply to any disputes arising out of or relating to these Official Rules.

Similarly, if the laws in an entrant’s province will not permit such entrant to consent to the

jurisdiction and venue of the courts in the Province of Ontario, then the entrant’s local

jurisdiction and venue will apply to such disputes related to these Official Rules.

Otherwise, all claims arising out of or relating to these Official Rules will be litigated exclusively

in the Ontario courts, and each entrant agrees that the courts of the Province of Ontario shall

have exclusive jurisdiction over such disputes or claims.

For Québec Residents: Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity

Competition may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling.

Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie

only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.

15) Privacy Notice: Except as otherwise contemplated in these Official Rules, and to the

extent entrants may otherwise elect at the time of entry, personal information collected in

connection with the Competition will be used in accordance with Sponsor’s online privacy policy, located at

https://www.wellacompany.com/en-us/privacy-policy. Any communication or information

transmitted to Sponsor by e-mail or otherwise is and will be treated as non-confidential and non-proprietary.

16) Canadian Residents Privacy: The personal information gathered about entrants will be

used solely for the administration of the Competition and is subject to the Sponsor’s privacy policy available at

https://www.wellacompany.com/en-us/privacy-policy No communication

unrelated to the Competition, commercial or otherwise, will be sent to the entrant by the

Sponsor, unless the entrant has otherwise authorized the Sponsor to do so or as

permitted by applicable law. Eligible entrants who do not wish to participate in the

Competition can withdraw their participation by notifying Sponsor in writing at Wella

Company, Attn: Christina McCarver 4500 Park Granada, Calabasas, CA 91302. Non-US

entrants’ information will be transferred to the U.S.
